Youth Theater Program
The Birdcage Youth Theatre Program is a local, non-profit community theater education program dedicated to delivering quality live youth theater performances, presented and performed by young people from our own community. We not only provide a valuable outlet to enjoy and participate in live theater and performing arts events in the community, but offer the chance for participating youth to obtain an education in acting, directing, set design, stage management, light/sound tech. While participants themselves do not qualify to become members of the theatre, their parents can choose to fill out a membership application and become volunteers as well!
Upcoming Youth Theatre Program Activities
The Birdcage Theatre is proud to announce it's upcoming Youth Theatre Program activities for the next season!

Our "Ink & Quills Playwriting Class" follows in early September, giving teen playwrights a chance to learn (or improve) their playwriting skills, with a chance of the final works being produced and acted out on stage at a future date!
Our Fall Semester Production of "The Wizard of Oz" (Youth edition) will begin in late September, with shows open to the public December 4th-6th!

Many parents have expressed interest in our upcoming youth theatre program, but due to our economy, many do not have the funds to pay for such a program. We would like to make this program inclusive to all kids in the Oroville community, thus our program will now be a pay what you can program. All we ask is that you seek out sponsorship opportunities in the community to supplement your contribution. The Birdcage Theatre will also actively seek sponsors to grow the program to support as many students as we can.
We have also partnered with Notes & Knots, in order to offer educational credit to charter school students. If your student attends a charter school, please contact Cristal Paterson at 530-712-3849, or online at https://www.notes-and-knots.com/.
Whatever the amount, your donation and any sponsorships will help to keep theatre education available to all children in the Oroville area. Donations can be made in person at any time during the course of the semester. For donating other ways, please contact the Birdcage Theatre at 530.282.5603
Below you will find our Tuition Sponsorship form.
